Here is a look at our week: Reading: We continued reading from our chapter book The Year of Billy Miller. Writing: We worked on writing an informational paper on a solid or liquid. Students chose a solid or liquid they knew a lot about and worked on describing aspects of that solid or liquid using their senses. Math: We finished up our chapter in Math on shapes and fractions. We talked about how to partition a shape into equal parts and the area of shapes. We also did a fun craft on Friday using different shapes as toppings to put on our taco. Bible: We talked about joy and peace this week. Joy: I will be content with what I have. Peace: I will not be afraid because I trust God. I mixed baking soda with vinegar to demonstrate the overflowing joy of the Lord and the students loved seeing the cup bubble over. Science: We performed an experiment this week mixing different types of liquids with water to see how they react. Some liquids mix right together and others layer like oil and corn syrup. Thank you again for those who have brought in items this year to help us perform these experiments. It has been a huge help and some of these science experiments have been a highlight for them.
