1.) There is no school on Monday (11/11)! 2.) Scholastic Book Order: We have a Scholastic Book Order again! If you would like to order you can do so online at http://world-schools.scholastic.co.uk/okinawa-christian-school-intl or you can turn in the money with the paper order form to me that I sent home today in the magazine. For every $1 you spend on this month’s Book Club, our school will earn 20¢in Scholastic Rewards to add new books to our classroom library. Make sure the order is under Lyons 2.2 to help our class earn reward points. The last day to order will be Friday, November 22nd. (This could make good Christmas gifts! The order should arrive before Christmas break!) 3.) Next week we will edit and publish our stories. Phonics: We learned about syllables. We practiced saying words and breaking them into different parts. Math: We learned how to add three and four two-digit numbers together. We also worked on addition word problems. Bible: We learned about Elijah. We learned how God provided for Elijah during the drought by sending ravens to feed him. We also learned how God provided for the widow and her son during the drought by doing a miracle--her jar of oil and flour would never run out! Science: We learned about the Desert Biome. We learned that biome means a large area of land with special features. So a desert biome is dry, sunny, has very little rain, etc. We also learned what types of plants and animals live in the desert. Have a great 3 day weekend! Mrs. Lyons Comments are closed.
