Phonics: We learned that English words have powerful spelling patterns. If we learn how to spell one powerful pattern is can help us spell and read other words. We looked a poems with rhyming words and identified the pattern and came up with other words with the same pattern. Writing: We helped edit each others personal narratives and worked on our final draft of one of our personal narrative stories. Math: We learned how to write numbers in word form and problem solve. We also learned how to use skip counting to help us identify patterns in numbers. Science: We learned about the Ocean habitat this week. We learned that the ocean is made up of 3 main zones: sunlit, twilight, and midnight zones. They worked on figuring out what creatures lived in which zones. Bible: We finished up the story of Joshua. We learned about the Battle of Ai and when God made the sun stand still to give the Israelites victory. We learned that Joshua faithfully obeyed God and throughout his life, they were able to conquer and live in the Promised land again.
