Here's a look at our week: Reading: We learned how to "book shop" during Daily 5, picking good fit books that will stretch us to become readers and keep us engaged all week long. We also practiced reading out loud with expression, paying attention to the punctuation to give us clues. Writing: We learned when to use capitals letters in our writing as well as how to use correct punctuation. We also talked about exercising our "writing muscle" to become better writers and that setting goals and making edits to our stories will help us become stronger writers. The students are working hard at editing their drafts and writing for 20 minutes without distractions. Math: We finished up Chapter 2 and learned about how to add repeated numbers in an array, and how to put even numbers into 2 equal groups. We will be having our Math test on Monday (10/15). Bible: We learned about David, Solomon, and the Divided Kingdom of Israel. We talked about how God is the one TRUE King and the only One who will rule with all goodness, perfection, and justice. Israel kept turning away from God, especially as the kingdom became divided, and things weren't looking so good for them at the end of Hoshea and Zedekiah's reign of Israel and Judah... Next week's Bible and Spelling words:
