Writing: We have continued writing personal narratives. Learning how to magnify small moments to tell a story. We have also been learning how to begin our stories in an exciting way. Math: We have finished up the first chapter reviewing our addition and subtraction strategies, and how to do two step problems. We will have our first math test on Tuesday (9/18). Bible: We learned about Jacob and Esau as well as Joseph this week. We have learned that even when we don't understand what God is doing, like Joseph, we can trust Him. Just as God worked in Joseph's life for good, He will do the same in our lives. Science: This week we learned what a BIOME is and what makes a desert biome. Below are some of their drawings of the animals we learned about in the desert biome. Also check out the photo of last week's Ocean habitat that they created. However, I will list the spelling and memory verse for next week at the bottom of this post. Reading: We are continuing to work on Reading to ourselves for 20 minutes. We have made it to 15.5 minutes so far and are getting close to our 20 minute goal. We also practiced our math facts on Xtramath.com during computer lab time. Science: We are learning all about Habitats. We talked about what belongs in a shallow ocean water habitat.
