I am officially back home and doing much better. Thank you for all the emails of encouragement, prayers, and help as I was unexpectedly gone. I have certainly missed seeing your students and look forward to seeing them all again on Monday! A big thank you to Jesse Spencer (my substitute this week), and Ms. Guiles (2.1 teacher) for helping with my lesson plans to keep our class on schedule with learning! Mrs. Lyons We had a great first week back from break in 2nd grade!! Here's a look at our week: Reading: We learned how to Draw Conclusions. We practiced looking at clues in the pictures and words to figure out what was happening. We played a few fun riddle games to guess the conclusion. Writing: We spent this week learning how to nominate a book for an award. We practiced picking an award and finding evidence in the book. Math: We learned how to add three-digit numbers. We reviewed how to regroup if the answer is more than ten. Next Friday we will take our chapter 6 test. Social Studies: This week we learned about Africa with Ms. Guiles! Important Information:

We will also be flying our kites outside from 9:30-10:00. Every student needs to bring their own kite to school. Please label your child's kite with their name.
